Two days of black and white in a row, I make no apologies. Intentionally very dark, just seemed to feel right as I was framing the shot.
At least a photo a day, with a bit of music, tattoos, and piercings for good measure

I never take a thing for granted
Been a while since I shared some music ...
I remember hearing Sevendust a long time ago, but it's only recently that I've really gotten into them.

Sevendust - Separate
Sevendust - Clueless

Weekend shots: Photo a day #25 and #26
Saturday was a busy day, luckily I brought my camera along for at least part of it ...
Tonight I took a drive downtown to grab a pic of the Art Gallery of Alberta. It really is a fantastic building, I hope to get more pictures of it when the weather is nicer. Unfortunately the traffic lights will still be there

A visit to the museum
I didn't actually go inside said museum (the Royal Alberta Museum here in Edmonton), but while I was there getting my daily photo a couple of weeks ago I got a few more pictures as well.

Steam: Photo a day #22
This would have been a great shot if I spent a bit more time setting it up. As done I couldn't get both the focus and composition right because I was holding the steam source with one hand. Automatic focus doesn't seem to work on steam (which I had found out last year) and when you've only got one hand for the camera the only way you can manually focus is to move the camera and steam closer or farther from each other.
All that said, it's not a bad picture and it was far more fun to take than the photos I posted over the last couple of days.

Lines: Photo a day #20
Another dailyshoot.com assignment photo. Definitely a bit on the boring side with regards to subject matter, but it is what it is ...
Weekend shots: Photo a day #17, #18, #19
Friday's and Saturday's pics were taken while I was at my parents' place this weekend. Last night I took one when I got back to Edmonton.

Enclosed: Photo a day #16
A self portrait ... taken from inside a server enclosure. I was a bit stuck today, this was inspired by today's dailyshoot.com assignment (on Dave's suggestion and from another photo blog I follow.)

Weekend shots: Photo a day #10, #11, and #12
My shots from both Friday and Saturday were of the "ugh, I've gotta get a picture before I sleep" variety. Saturday's shot was even taken in the wee hours this morning. I like to think I made up for it with today's shot though, given that it's well outside of my norm.
The composition on that one is very slightly off, unfortunately that was as wide as I could take the shot. I was already at 18mm and lying on my back on a pile of snow and ice. I actually got quite a few good shots today, a result of some gentle (and much appreciated) cajoling to check out the Royal Alberta Museum grounds instead of randomly heading downtown. More of them will probably be posted at a later date.

Dent/Pharm: Photo a day #9
I decided to crank my aperture down to f/22 today (inspired by a dpreview challenge) and take some pictures of the Dentistry/Pharmacy building on campus. Technically I was fairly unimpressed with the result, I expected some loss of quality vs. my usual night pictures but this was a bit worse than I thought it would be. That said, I quite like how it came out.
I took quite a few more pictures as well, including some with wider apertures, so I'll probably post a bit more from this set at some point.
